My family lives in Jamaica, and several of them were directly in the path of Hurricane Melissa. The storm damaged or destroyed their homes, cut off basic utilities, and temporarily halted their jobs and income.
While we’re grateful for life and grateful that they are physically safe, the road to rebuilding will take time. In the meantime, they still need to eat, stay hydrated, and manage daily living until their situation stabilises.
Our focus right now is not rebuilding houses or replacing belongings those things will come later. The immediate goal is simply to help them access the essentials while they’re without electricity, water, and steady income.
